Niyor helps you build a digital personality model from real conversations: a growing understanding of your experiences, beliefs and the way you think. You can use it to explore questions and discuss ideas from that documented perspective. As the model matures, the possibilities become increasingly open-ended—from revisiting advice to thinking through unfamiliar situations. Its answers still depend on what has actually been recorded.
Do I need a Windows PC?
You can record conversations and discover early personality insights on Android alone. A Windows PC takes Niyor further: its more powerful CPU and, when available, GPU make it possible to run local AI models that can process your recordings and interact with your documented personality. You get that richer experience without giving up control of your personal data to a cloud AI service. A dedicated GPU can make processing faster, but it is not required.
Does Niyor need the internet?
Niyor’s personal recording and AI processing are designed to run locally, without uploading your conversations to a Niyor cloud AI service. Internet access may still be needed to install the apps, receive updates or download required setup components.
How do recordings on my phone reach my PC?
Just connect your Android phone to your Windows PC with a USB cable—the same way you plug it in to charge. Once file transfer is enabled, Niyor Desktop automatically syncs new recordings without you having to copy or import them manually. Your PC uses local AI to process those recordings and build a deeper understanding of your personality. Niyor then syncs that updated understanding back to the Android app, keeping both experiences connected. Your recordings and insights move directly between your devices, without requiring cloud storage.
Can Niyor get things wrong?
Yes. Speech recognition and AI interpretation can miss details or draw the wrong conclusion. Niyor is meant to ground its understanding in recorded material, not invent memories. When something matters, return to the original audio and transcript to check the context.

Niyor helps you document personal conversations and explore on-device personality insights. Your recordings belong to you. This policy explains how the Android app handles that material.
The short version
Niyor stores your recordings and related information locally. The Android app processes personal content on your device; it does not send your recordings, transcripts or personality information to a Niyor cloud AI service. Niyor does not sell that content, use it for targeted advertising, or collect it for a remote personality archive.
Information kept on your device
Depending on how you use the app, Niyor may create or store original audio recordings, locally generated transcripts, conversation-topic or question progress, recording metadata, personality insights, saved progress, and app preferences. These files and derived information are kept in the app's local storage or the local storage location you select.
The Android personality experience is generated on the phone. When you connect the devices by USB, Niyor for Windows can also process original recordings independently and sync updated understanding back to the Android app. This direct device-to-device exchange does not require a cloud-synced profile.
Microphone and file access
Microphone permission is requested so you can make recordings you choose to start. Niyor does not use the microphone for hidden advertising surveillance or unrelated tracking.
File or storage access may be used to save recordings, work with your local library, or access files you explicitly choose. Android manages these permissions, and you can review or revoke them in your device settings.
Local AI, internet and third parties
Core recording and personality processing are designed to work locally, without sending personal conversation content to a remote AI model. The Android app does not use your recordings to train a cloud model, and it is not supported by behavioral advertising or third-party app analytics.
Google Play and Android may separately handle technical information needed to install, update, secure, or operate apps, under Google's terms. Visiting niyor.si or emailing support also involves the ordinary services used for web hosting or email; neither action uploads your saved recordings from the app.
Bringing recordings to a Windows PC
When you connect your Android phone to Niyor Desktop with a USB cable and enable file transfer if prompted, Desktop automatically syncs new recordings and sends updated understanding back to the Android app. You do not have to copy recordings manually, and no cloud transfer is required.
Recordings synced to your PC are stored and processed locally there. Deleting a recording on one device may not remove a copy already stored on the other device; review and manage recordings on each device as needed.
Accounts, downloads and support
Niyor for Android is publicly available through Google Play; joining a Google Group or closed test is no longer required. Google handles Play Store downloads and updates according to its own privacy terms.
If you voluntarily contact tryniyor@gmail.com, we receive the email address and information you include so we can respond. Please do not send private recordings in a support request unless you have decided to share them.
Keeping and deleting recordings
Recordings and app information remain local until you delete them, clear app storage, or otherwise remove them using your device's file and app-management tools. Clearing app data or uninstalling can permanently remove app-managed information; save copies of anything you want to retain first.
Files you exported, copied to shared folders, backed up using device services, or moved to a PC may remain in those other locations and must be managed separately. Your device's backup settings are controlled by the operating system and any backup service you choose to use.
Recording other people
Before recording someone else, make sure you have any consent required where you are. You are responsible for using Niyor in accordance with applicable recording and privacy laws.
Children
Niyor is not designed for children under 13 to use independently. If an adult records family conversations that include children, the adult is responsible for appropriate consent and for safeguarding those recordings.
Security and limitations
Local processing minimizes the need to transfer sensitive recordings, but your device and backups still need protection. Use your phone's lock-screen and security features, keep your operating system up to date, and take care when transferring files. AI-generated transcripts and personality insights can be incomplete or inaccurate.
Updates to this policy
If Niyor introduces features that change how the Android app handles personal data, this policy will be updated. The date above shows the latest revision.
